Takin' care of business

Even though I don't regularly practice as a photographer my degree in Fashion with Photography keeps me interested in the latest editorials, adverts and fashion films. There are a lot of talented photographers and stylists out there but often the concepts behind the editorials lack imagination and blend in amongst the rest. However, when I saw 'Takin' care of business' for Bon Magazine I loved it. 7 women are styled in their usual attire for work and an image of their work place is posted opposite. I'm not sure that my mechanic looks quite so stylish when I pop in for my yearly MOT but the juxtaposition of the contrasting images works brilliantly. The simplicity in the styling and the layout adds to the impact of the concept. Well done Bon Magazine- a great editorial.

Trend Watch: Floral Passion

                           3. Premium Floral Trousers, Asos- £27   4. Floral Clutch Bag

This is probably the most girly style post I have ever posted and I'm sure I ever will! I wear a lot of black and dark colours but the weather in London today has inspired me to look to the Spring/Summer trends for inspiration. Floral prints are start to fill our high street stores and online boutiques already in time for Summer. The prints are mainly delicate with some heavier prints also making a huge impact. I am on the search for a floral trouser and blazer combo at the moment, as they were a huge hit at London Fashion Week, but so far I am failing to find the right one. To wear floral I would probably pick one of the above items and layer with a lot of black. Ok so I really can't take black completely out of my wardrobe...sorry! I love the blazer from designer, MinkPink and I have a feeling it will stay in your wardrobe for the next few seasons. Whether you want to wear floral top to toe or take a more subtle approach like myself, embrace it somehow. With floral anything goes and you can also recycle some old floral pieces from past seasons.

Hasan Hejazi Autumn/Winter 2013

During London Fashion Week I was invited to view Hasan Hejazi's Autumn/Winter '13 collection at the prestigious W Hotel, London. Since interviewing Hasan for Third Floor Publication last year I have been a huge fan of his work and have followed his moves. I knew when I met Hasan that his passion and abundance of talent would see him do well and his Autumn/Winter '13 collection has confirmed this. Full of elegance and lavishness this collection is perfect for that powerful women who is looking for clothing with that added extra. I really believe with the exquisit craftsmanship and attention to detail Hasan's Autumn/Winter '13 clothes will make any women feel $1 million dollars!

Featuring a colour palette of pale pinks, rich burgundy and vamp black the collection is given a luxurious feeling with sophisticated glitter. Frills, flattering peplums and shimmering fabrics gives the evening wear a modern edge. Hasan has really stepped up his game with this collection and has created a collection that is entirely flattering for the female form. Inspired by the formidable female icons from the 21st century Hasan sticks to his design style with dramatic necklines and full length evening gowns.

The pale pinks are perfect for those looking for a bit of glamour in their wardrobe but don't want to seem too 'out there'. The collection offers so much versatilely with dresses, trousers, and accessories and really shows a maturity within his designs. A brilliant collection Hasan, you should be very proud!
