The Power of Purple

I know, I know none of us want summer 2012 to be over before it has even really begun (I am writing this sat listening to the sound of the lovely August rain outside)! That being said I have had a look at the Autumn/Winter trends that will be filling our wardrobes and high street stores before we know it and I absolutely love the new purple trend for Autumn 2012. It is simple wear purple and lot's of it! Take a look at my moodboard for the trend made on polyvore.com and if you aren't quite ready to get rid of your summer wardrobe yet-layer your items up to adapt the trend (just like the tie-dye purple shorts in my moodboard).

Hair Chalking is the new dip-dye

For those of you that loved the dip-dye trend but just didn't want to commit to bright colours in your hair for fear that you would regret it, check out the latest hair trend: HAIR CHALKING!

It really is as simple as it sounds, you just need some old school coloured chalk and light coloured hair-if I was blonde I would be experimenting right now. It's the perfect idea if you are going to a festival as it washes out in just a couple of washes! Another idea is you can try out the hair chalking and then perhaps you gave do the real thing!

What colour will you choose-pink, purple, blue or another?

MY PIC OF THE WEEK...

Magazine:HERO. Photographer: Fabien Kruszelnicki
What I love about this image most is the simplisity and the symbolism. I come from a catholic family and The Holy Cross means a lot to me. The symbol is used a lot of the time but often its meaning is forgotten. The contrast between the black and white catches the eye of the viewer. For those of you who are aware of HERO magazine, you will know it fits their brand handwriting so perfectly.

Print Magazine or Digital Magazine?

Print or Digital?

Over the past few years one debate that resurfaces from time to time is that of the print vs digital magazine. I have always preferred print magazine as there is just something you get from turning the pages in your hand that just isn't quite the same as the click of a mouse. There is no denying that online magazines are a lot easier to access, and magazines need to adhere to the 21st century, however I now find myself somewhere in the middle. I can't see a day where I would never buy a print magazine, but for now online magazines are working for me.

However one exception to the rule is Notion Magazine. I have a lot of respect for Notion, however living in the Oxfordshire countryside I can't always get my hands on a copy. What I love about Notion is I can view it online, and even if I don't necessarily read as many of the articles as I would in a print copy, I don't feel like I'm missing out. & what is even better is you save your pennies, for other magazines :) Win win!! Take a look at this beautiful editorial from the latest Notion and you can view it online here: http://www.e-pages.dk/notion/81/.

So what side are you on digital or print?!
