Barbie: Moschino vs Wildfox

As a girly girl brought up in the 90's of course my bedroom was filled with Barbie dolls, cars to take them to the beach and not forgetting the Barbie where you could change their hair colour? When Barbie made an official instagram earlier this year- I was ecstatic to see a childhood icon still going strong and having an impact on our day to day lives. Earlier this week Moschino revealed it's SS15 catwalk collection, hugely inspired by Barbie and if it hasn't featured on your Facebook and Twitter timelines prepare to be amazed. After launching their AW14 collection in February straight from the catwalk reveal they decided to take the same approach he same this time round. Buying is exactly what people are doing with lots of pieces already out of stock.! As part of Vogue's #FNO I popped into Selfridges last night and saw some of the bags for the first time- absolutely stunning! However apart from the iPhone case the collection isn't exaclty affordable... So I am here to save you with one of the latest lookbooks from Wildfox which also plays homage to all things Barbie. The bad news is however, rumours are the Wildfox collection won't be available until January, but if you can't afford a piece from the Moschino collection (the majority of us- don't worry) Wildfox is a great option when the collection lands. Let me leave you with my top picks from Moschino SS15 and let the countdown begin for the Wildfox collection.

1. Moschino SS15 Jumper, £379
2. Totally Moschino SS15 Crop, £205
3. Moschino Mini Skirt SS15, £224
4. Moschino Leather Bag, £1,050
5. Moschino Rucksack, £422

The Wardrobe Staples: Alexander Wang

90s nostalgia is everywhere at the moment and that doesn't stop with the standout SS14 collection from Alexander Wang. As a huge lover of all things normcore, minimal and monochrome Alexander Wang is one of my favourite designers. Ever since his 'Parental Advisory' SS14 catwalk collection the world and the streets have been filled with Alexander Wang madness. If you can't afford to be top to toe Alexander Wang then choose one staple piece that you know will be an investment in the long run.

1. Parental Advisory Tank, £250 via Harrods
2. Lurex Shift Dress, £550 via Harrods
3. Sheer Panel Sweater, £455 via Harrods

5. Alla Wedge, £599 via Harrods
6. Rockie Silver Stud Duffle Bag, £735 via Harrods

Jewellery: Mean Girls Collection

I cannot quite believe that it has been a decade since the release of Mean Girls, back when I was only 13 years old! Ever since it has been common knowledge that "you can't sit with us" and on "wednesdays we wear pink". I actually remember one of my friends creating a Burn Book inspired from the film, needless to say this caused lots of teenage problems.

To celebrate the milestone Stella & Bow are launching a Mean Girls inspired range entitled 'The Burn Book Collection'. Each piece is inspired from the film and named after a Mean Girls character. It's hard to pick a favourite piece as I love them all but I think it has to be the best friends necklace and cute pink stone bangle. What I love most about the collection is the pieces are subtle, delicate yet humorous and alluring. The only pieces I don't like are the friendship style bracelets are perhaps aimed towards a younger market. The collection is due for release in February but is available for pre-order.

"Most all of our favourite movies have been capitalised upon, via clothing, home goods, fashion accessories - except for Mean Girls," Lauren Brokaw
