Jewellery: Mean Girls Collection

I cannot quite believe that it has been a decade since the release of Mean Girls, back when I was only 13 years old! Ever since it has been common knowledge that "you can't sit with us" and on "wednesdays we wear pink". I actually remember one of my friends creating a Burn Book inspired from the film, needless to say this caused lots of teenage problems.

To celebrate the milestone Stella & Bow are launching a Mean Girls inspired range entitled 'The Burn Book Collection'. Each piece is inspired from the film and named after a Mean Girls character. It's hard to pick a favourite piece as I love them all but I think it has to be the best friends necklace and cute pink stone bangle. What I love most about the collection is the pieces are subtle, delicate yet humorous and alluring. The only pieces I don't like are the friendship style bracelets are perhaps aimed towards a younger market. The collection is due for release in February but is available for pre-order.

"Most all of our favourite movies have been capitalised upon, via clothing, home goods, fashion accessories - except for Mean Girls," Lauren Brokaw

Alexa Chung IT

A couple of weeks ago I was delighted to be accepted by Access All ASOS to be a part of their exciting group! My first invitation from Access All ASOS was to request a signed copy of Alexa Chung, IT before it hit ASOS.com. I have always loved Alexa's effortless style and was funnily enough just about to buy this book, so of course I wanted to try my luck! From the people that applied 25 were chosen and I was one of the lucky ones who received a signed copy. I have recently moved house so the address I had given was my address work. This would all be fine but as I had a week off work I had to wait a whole week to see the copy, it killed me! Although when I arrived at work on Monday morning it definitely helped me get through my first day back at work. I wanted to share with you some snapshots of the book, that tells Alexa's life through her pictures, illustrations and short tales. It is a must for anybody who loves Alexa Chung and as we are creative souls it has the right balance between writing and visual stimulation. For all you fashionista's wanting to break into the career it is a great pick, lets not forget she has a Mulberry named after her so she is certainly doing something right!

Thank you so much ASOS, what a great book. You can get your copy now at ASOS.

Whistles Spring/Summer 2013

Whistles isn't usually somewhere that I would shop or seek for inspiration but their Spring/Summer 2013 campaign really caught my eye. Ever since showing their Autumn/Winter 2013 collection at London Fashion Week in February the British company shows a more cotemporary side to the brand with more fashion forward pieces as well as timeless classics. From accessories to clothing Whistles is the perfect brand, offering you items to work in, dine in and go out in.

TMRW Issue 04 Launch Party

What better way to start your weekend than a magazine launch party in the sun? Last Friday I finished work relieved and although I'm not a Monday-Friday worker like a lot of you I still had that Friday Feeling. I headed to the Weekend Offender store on D'arblay Street, London for the TMRW Issue 04 Launch and let the good times roll. Back in spring I interviewed Arlissa for TMRW Issue 03 so I was eager to have a look at the new issue and see what hot shots in music and fashion they had interviewed this time round. The latest issue really feels like it has been taken up a notch in terms of quality and content, and with the wonderful Everything Everything gracing the cover, is that a surprise (*cough cough*)? TMRW editor Joe Brine really knows how to throw a party with Josh Kumra playing live, lots of free drinks and goodies oh and the FaceJacker was also spotted flicking through TMRW. If you are interested in great music and love a bit of fashion then I suggest you get yourself a copy.

LC:M Newgen S/S '14

London Collections: Men is just around the corner and with a lot of fashionista's already planning their outfits and getting excited about the event's busy schedule I think it's going to be even better than before. London Collections: Men is a 3 day event that celebrates everything great about menswear from catwalk collections to exhibition space and exclusive events hosted by the likes of Tom Ford. The highlights for me last season were definitely the Katie Eary show, which I had great seats for and also the controversial but mesmerising J.W.Anderson show. I cannot wait to see what they have to offer us next, something bigger and better I would assume.

Newgen is a sponsorship with Topshop/Topman that has supported London Fashion Week for over 10 years. When menswear was taken away from LFW and given it's own event LC:M Newgen followed and rightly so. Each season Newgen supports up-and-coming designers to give them that extra push needed to showcase their work and this season's designers have just been announced.

Agi & Sam

I love a design duo and Agi & Sam are one step above the rest when it comes to quality and creative flair. Their last collection stood out with it's bold prints and striking silhouettes, combining the right amount of heritage and modern together.

Matthew Miller

After studying at the Royal College of Art Matthew set up his own label and has grown from strength to strength with each season. For A/W '13 his almost all black collection collection got great reviews as he took an anarchic take on classic tailoring. 'Born to Fail' was the slogan of the collection, although I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon.

Astrid Anderson

Using hip-hop and masculinity as a crucial influence within design Astrid inserts a feminine touch with his choice of materials and colour ways. After only graduating in 2010 Astrid has acheived so much and won the Brioni Creativity and Innovation Award and the River Island MA Student Bursary Award.

Lee Roach

After graduating from Central Saint Martins BA course in 2010, Lee's S/S 2011 collection featured in Selfridges 'Bright Young Things' initiative. Lee describes his signature as “Reduction and repetition.”

Nasir Mazhar

After working alongside with theatre costume designer, Mark Wheeler and training with Jane Smith, Nasir made the decision to go it alone and set up his own label. Not one to play it safe Nasir is definitely one to watch this season.

Shaun Samson

With a MA from Central St Martin's it's no surprise with the success Shaun Samson has had in the fashion world. I went to his show last season and was transformed into a world of modern streetwear and I loved it!

Martine Rose

With a very retro feeling within her designs and influences Martine Rose has been allocated presentation and designer showroom sponsorship at S/S 2014 London Collections: Men. The only female out of the group, come on Martine, do it for the girls!

Summer Essentials: Cochinechine

CoChineChine is a luxury boutique that after nine years selling beautiful designer clothes in Hampstead recently launched their very own website. Stocking everything great from Kenzo to COMME DES GARÇONS, CoChineChine have a striking brand image to rival the likes of net-a-porter and my-wardrobe.com. Don't be put off by the prices, even if something remains on your wish list for a couple of months it will feel like an achievement when you do finally get to show it off. I have always been a huge fan of fast fashion and spending my money when I have it but I think it is always worth spending that bit more on your clothes. Even if you have to save hard it is worth it to get those quality and timeless pieces we all deserve. Here are my 'Summer Essentials' from CoChineChine. If you are in North London then pop in store, you will be welcomed with open arms.

TMRW / ISSUE 03 / ARLISSA INTERVIEW

I love a chance to interview new faces whether it be music or fashion related so I jumped at the chance to interview the wonderful Arlissa for Issue 03 of Indie magazine, TMRW. Named as the BBC Sound of 2013 and with a single with Nas already released she is doing incredibly well. TMRW is a great magazine that features not only new faces but the well known in music and fashion On the cover of Issue 03 is Ellie Goulding. You can purchase your copy online or in many retailers such as Selfridges. I would suggest taking a visit to Selfridges as their magazine section is pure magazine heaven!

Trend Watch: Floral Passion

                           3. Premium Floral Trousers, Asos- £27   4. Floral Clutch Bag

This is probably the most girly style post I have ever posted and I'm sure I ever will! I wear a lot of black and dark colours but the weather in London today has inspired me to look to the Spring/Summer trends for inspiration. Floral prints are start to fill our high street stores and online boutiques already in time for Summer. The prints are mainly delicate with some heavier prints also making a huge impact. I am on the search for a floral trouser and blazer combo at the moment, as they were a huge hit at London Fashion Week, but so far I am failing to find the right one. To wear floral I would probably pick one of the above items and layer with a lot of black. Ok so I really can't take black completely out of my wardrobe...sorry! I love the blazer from designer, MinkPink and I have a feeling it will stay in your wardrobe for the next few seasons. Whether you want to wear floral top to toe or take a more subtle approach like myself, embrace it somehow. With floral anything goes and you can also recycle some old floral pieces from past seasons.

Mocks Spring/Summer 2013

I know it may not seem like it with this cold spell we are having but Spring is just around the corner (I promise), so brighten up your wardrobe in advance with a pair of colourful Mocks. A distant relative of the moccasin (don't worry I had to google them aswell), the Mocks bring the traditional concept straight to the 21st century with a collection filled with vibrant colours that are going to be so in this Spring/Summer. Whether you are off to the park for a picnic or for a dog walk these Mocks are great!

As much as us girls love to say 'no pain no gain' when it comes to our choice of shoes Spring/Summer is all about getting outside and having fun, so keep your heels in your wardrobes please. You can finally ditch that pair of shoes that you only keep because they are comfortable and replace them with a pair that are comfy but also mega stylish! Mocks are made from an innovative new material adding a new sense of comfort to every day use. They are also washable, so whatever you get up to this Spring/Summer, the only reason you'll need to buy a new pair is to add another colour to your wardrobe.

Mocks are available in a wide range of 16 colours, my personal favourite are the neon pink colour but looking through, I really do feel spoilt for choice.

'Classic but casual, sophisticated but fun-break the mould with Mocks'.

The Catwalk Queen: Cara Delevigne

Cara Delenigne hasn't stopped since she was named 'Model of 2012' last year and has appeared on the front of Love and more recently British Vogue. Despite her success I don't think anyone could have predicted just how popular she would have been for the London Fashion Week, Autumn/Winter '13 catwalk collections. Since London Fashion Week kicked off on Friday, Cara literally hasn't stopped. Not only has she covered 7 shows in the first 4 days of London Fashion Week but she has also been spotted out with singer, Rihanna after her collaboration with River Island. I am now naming Cara Delevingne 'The Catwalk Queen'.

Missoni S/S 2013 Campaign

Despite having deep rooted family issues after Vittorio Missoni (Marketing Director and son) and wife went missing after NYE on Los Roques, the company have still managed to put together a brilliant Spring/Summer Campaign for their 60th Anniversary. Shot by the one and only Alasdair Mclellan the campaign shows that the family run company can do so much more than striped knitwear.

The campaign comes at a sad time as the Missoni family are eagerly awaiting news in regards to their son Vittorio Missoni, who's plane mysteriously disappeared soon after take off on the 4th of January 2012. Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Italian brand will be very hard without Vittorio but I wish them all the best in the search for him and his wife. Despite the family issues the Missoni family have to power on through to make the Missoni brand something to be proud of, and this Spring/Summer campaign showcasing works from past and present is just what they need.
